Designer Focus - Emma Hill



British born designer Emma Hill became the creative director of Mulberry in 2007, after previously designing accessory collections for Marc Jacobs, Gap and the launch of Marc by Marc Jacobs.

In 1992 Hill graduated in fashion at Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication and later that year became an accessory designer for Burberry. Since her time at Burberry (lasting two years) Emma Hill has become a well-known name in both the High fashion and High Street Fashion worlds, working for many top names.

Quick Facts
In 1994, Hill left Burberry to become an accessory designer for Liz Claiborne.
In 1997, she joined Marks & Spencer as an accessory designer and was also part of the trend-forecasting team.
In 2000 Hill became part of the Marc Jacobs, their sole accessory designer in New York.
In 2002 Hill became a vice president of adult accessory design for Gap.
In 2006, Hill became a freelance consultant for Temperley.
In 2006 Hill moved to Paris to cons consult for Chloe for one year
In 2007 Hill became and still is a freelance consultant for Reiss.
In 2007 Emma Hill was appointed creative director of Mulberry, in which her first eisgn was based on the Bayswater handbag.

In December 2010, Mulberry won the Best Designer Brand prize at the British Fashion Awards.
