Designer Focus - Dolce and Gabbana




Domenico Dolce (b. 1958, near Palermo, Sicily) and Stefano Gabbana (b. 1962, Milan, Italy) are the two creative minds behind the infamous D&G label, which have continuously created headline after headline. The creative partnership started out with them as a couple, but in 2005 they separated, but carried on with business as usual.

They have one of the most powerful of the front rows; attracting the likes of Victoria Beckham, Kylie Minogue and so on, have successfuly created a brand image that is recognisable in every ad campaign they do an have used the advantage of such powerful and famous to help promote the Dolce and Gabbana collections as one of the classic Italian lines found in the fashion industry.

  • The creative partnership were once dubbed the “Gilbert and George of Italian fashion”
  • By1997, their company reported a turnover of £400 million.
