Giorgio Armani, a king of the fashion idustry first began as a window dresser, but since then has become one of Italy’s most successful deisgners worth an estimated £3 billion in 2008.
Giorgio Armani has a huge franchise from his jean collection to his Pat McGrath deisgned make-up line. The Armani empire also totals over $1 billion in sales each year. However, Giorgio Armani is most renowened not for his fortunes, his jeans and make-up, but for his ever so stylish, timeless and classic suits.








Quick Facts

Giorgio Armani studied medicine and photography before going off into the military.
In 1974 Armani launched his first menswear collection.
In 1975 his first womenswear collection was launched.

Donna Karan
 Donna Karan
Donna Karan started out in the fashion world in 1985 with the aim to dress women in comfort. Donna Karan also created her DKNY label for a younger customer, creating each collection with her daughter in mind. Today, you can find Donna Karan as a lifestyle brand, creating not only looks for the catwalk, but also contributing to menswear, jeans, accessories, hosiery, fragrance and cosmetics ranges.

Karan sold it in April 2001 to LVMH for almost $250 million in cash, but still remains the designer of the brand.

· Donna Karan studied at Parsons School of Design for two years before working at Anne Klein.
